1. About these terms
These terms apply to the Bloom website at bloomstrial.com, operated by Balaji Venkatnarayanan, #02-05, 3 Yishun Avenue 11, Singapore 768859 ("we"). By using Bloom you accept them. If you create an account, you also confirm that you have read our Privacy Policy at bloomstrial.com/legal/privacy-policy.
2. Bloom is education, not medical care
- Bloom explains clinical research and helps you find studies in public trial registries. It does not give medical advice, diagnose, recommend treatment or decide whether you can join a study.
- Nothing on Bloom creates a doctor–patient or any other care relationship. Always talk to a qualified clinician about your health, and never delay or stop treatment because of something you read here.
- In an emergency, call your local emergency number now. Bloom is not monitored and cannot respond to emergencies.
- Disease-area primers and training pages are educational drafts. They are not certified training and give no qualification.
3. Trial information comes from others
Study records come from public registries such as ClinicalTrials.gov, ISRCTN, the EU Clinical Trials Information System, the US National Cancer Institute, Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and, for Japan, UMIN-CTR (University Hospital Medical Information Network; Bloom shows shortened records from UMIN's daily public data, as processed on the date shown on each record). The organisations running each study are responsible for their records. Records can be incomplete or out of date: always confirm details with the study team. A search result, a saved study or the eligibility self-check is not a decision that you are eligible; only the study team can decide that, after screening and informed consent.
4. Patient Genie
Patient Genie is an automated guide. Some answers are written in advance; others are generated by an AI service and can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Do not rely on them for decisions about your health or a study, and do not type names, contact details or health details into the chat.
5. Your account
- There is no minimum age. You need a working email address you control, and if the law where you live requires a parent's or guardian's permission for a child to use an online service, a child needs that permission first.
- Keep your password to yourself and tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has used your account. You can end other sessions under My Profile.
- Enter only your own information. Your role and profile are your own description: they do not give you any clinical or professional permission on Bloom.
- You can delete your account at any time under My Profile. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other people or the service at risk, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents it.
6. Acceptable use
Do not:
- break the law, or use Bloom to harm, harass or deceive anyone;
- enter another person's information, or pretend to be someone else;
- try to get around security, sign-in limits or the bot check, test for weaknesses without our written permission, or access other people's accounts;
- overload the service, or copy registry results or content in bulk with automated tools;
- upload malware or anything you have no right to share.
7. Content and links
Bloom's text, design and software belong to us or our licensors. Registry data, WHO figures, images and maps belong to their owners and are used under their terms, which are linked where they appear. You may use Bloom for your own information and share links to it. Links to other websites are for convenience; we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
8. Availability
We aim to keep Bloom available and accurate but provide it "as is", free of charge. Features may change, pause or end, for example while we maintain the service. Trial search and the learning pages keep working when the account service is unavailable.
9. Liability
- Bloom is free and educational. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for any loss caused by relying on information on Bloom (including registry records, primers and Patient Genie answers) instead of asking a clinician or the study team, by the service being unavailable or changed, or by other websites we link to.
- As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data you could have kept yourself (for example a download or an export).
- Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that the law does not allow to be excluded or limited, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud, and nothing takes away your rights as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.
10. Changes to these terms
We publish changes on this page with a new version and date. If a change affects your account, Bloom asks you to review the new terms before you can edit your profile again. If you do not accept them, you can delete your account.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and its courts can decide disputes about them. If you use Bloom as a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live and can also bring a claim in its courts. Please contact us first: most questions can be solved quickly.
